The original 1668 south front and state rooms are the oldest part of the house, and by far the most beautiful. The house can easily accommodate large wedding receptions and corporate events. Key to the offer is its flexibility. We don’t do packages and so it is up to the bride or host to plan how the wedding or event should work. We have one rule which is that for weddings, we must have a marquee as the house can’t really cope with dancing, but other than that the place is there to let your imagination run wild.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the entire Capheaton team (Louise, Eliza, Willy, Jane, Fergus and everyone else) for being so welcoming and supportive throughout the entire wedding process up until the post-wedding day! We had the most magical day and wish we could do it all again. Louise is the most patient and kindest soul who was so patient and helpful with her advice. She always had a solution to things that seemed impossible, and we are just thankful that we had such support! What more do you want, a fantastic venue with the best team to work with. Thank you once again!
Mr and Mrs W - August 2019
There was a good amount of meetings before the wedding which meant we felt organised and on top of things. On the day Louise and Anna were always there to check things were getting done and we were where we were meant to be.
I would definitely recommend a wedding at Capheaton Hall. The setting is perfect and you receive so much help from the wedding coordinators that you feel totally calm and well organised. On the day they are fantastic at keeping you right and they go out of their way to help.
Jenny and James - June 2019
Capheaton was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. It was intimate, elegant and relaxed, which helped us and our guests have a really great time. Thank you very much to everyone at Capheaton, especially Louise and Eliza, for your help with everything, and we would highly recommend Capheaton to anyone looking for a unique venue for their wedding day.
Mr and Mrs C - May 2019
From first viewing Capheaton Hall to checking out the day after our wedding, the service and experience was amazing and made our wedding weekend an experience we could never forget. Eliza and Willy were welcoming and accommodating to our requests and questions, and the wedding wouldn't have been the same without Anna Rainbow's wedding expertise and planning service. She is amazing! The house and grounds are so well kept and our guests had never been to a wedding venue like it, and probably never will! Couldn't recommend this beautiful setting enough for your big day or special event.
Hannah and Rob - May 2018
The most stunning venue in the North East, staff really friendly, accommodating and helpful throughout. Highly recommend. All contributed to making it the best day of our lives.
Mr and Mrs Smith - September 2017
Capheaton Hall is an ideal wedding venue. Not short of 'wow' factor, the house is picturesque and atmospheric. There are so many locations with different character to enjoy, from the ruined chapel for romantic photographs to the magnificent reception hall where we hosted afternoon tea, and the sweeping lawns where we pitched the tipi. Working with a flexible and professional team, we were able to design and personalise our perfect 'big day'.
Natasha and Dominic - June 2017
