Overlooking Sir Edward’s Lake in Capheaton, Northumberland, this is the second of three new cottages in one of Northumberland’s most picturesque and peaceful locations. This mid-terraced cottage is called ‘Emily’ and is part of a spectacular conversion of a line of the earliest built cottages in the village. Externally the cottages all retain their original frontages but have been converted to the rear to provide warm, modern and spacious accommodation.
Emily has one spacious double bedroom, complete with enormous Nickel bathtub, and door opening to the patio area. Cosy living room with wood burning stove and kitchen dining room with fabulous views to the rear of the cottage.
You can book all of our properties together if you are planning a trip with friends or family.
You are welcome to enjoy walks around the Lake, or come and see the gardens at the Hall.
There may occasionally be private functions and events at the Hall so it is probably wise to check with the Estate Office at the time of booking.

A lovely welcome from Estate staff member on arrival checking we had everything we needed. Delighted with all aspects of Emily cottage. Wonderful weekend away bolthole, peaceful and very comfortable. Enjoyed bacon rolls and coffee at the village tea room on Sunday morning. Spectacular scenery.

We stayed here over Christmas, and I say this without hyperbole - we had the best Christmas ever. Check-in was effortless, the accommodation flawlessly clean and full of character, with not a single thing I would change. It's hard to explain how relaxing a time we had, and I feel the biggest compliment I can pay is that we WILL be back. Thank you!

Had a great long weekend in Emily, the place is perfect. You could sit on the window seat all day looking out at the fields and beyond. Lovely walk around the lake. Bottle of Prosecco went down a treat, sat in the garden.

The Lakeside Cottages at Capheaton must be among the most wonderful and amazing places to stay in the UK. The cottages with their vaulted ceilings and very high quality furnishings and fittings were well beyond the normal holiday homes. If you are looking for tranquillity, beautiful sunsets, fabulous landscapes and excellent internet speeds then this is the place to visit. I just hope that there will still be availability for our next visit!

Expect a wonderful stay. The view from the dining area is stunning, get up at dawn! Highly recommend. So many Halls, including Capheaton, castles and beautiful gardens to visit in the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this delightful cottage set in such a beautiful setting. The location meant we were in hitting distance of both the coast and Kielder Forest, so plenty to keep busy with. On arrival it was really nice to find a bottle of fizz and also some treats for the dogs. We would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family.

By far the best cottage I've been in England, or maybe even Airbnb. Exceeded expectations on everything, we were welcomed with a clean and tidy house, with all amenities in place, and a bottle of Prosecco. Location is amazing, far from everything, definitely a place I would love to come back to.

Exactly how it is in the photos and even more homely when you are there. Really detailed guest information file when you get there and lovely bottle of Prosecco as a treat in the fridge. Perfect stay!
